Back to School Clothes Guide
College wardrobes can be intimidating. No one quite knows what to wear to class, and often, we get so exhausted thinking about it that we opt for another workout set (nothing wrong with a good workout set). I’ve gathered what I call my “Back to School Clothing Guide” for those looking to refresh their closet just in time for school. These are a collection of my wardrobe staples for class that you can feel comfortable yet put together in. As always, click on each image to shop my picks for each category.
Classic Tees/Tanks
A tee is the easiest thing to throw on, but I’m not talking about your high school t-shirt from homecoming two years ago. Here are my picks of the perfect t-shirts for any outfit.
P.S. If Kendall Jenner can wear them, so can you ;)
Button Downs
I love button-downs; this has become my mantra of 2023. Button-downs are the most accessible item to throw on (without buttoning as a jacket or buttoned as a shirt). You can add an open button-down to a short and tank outfit, or wear it buttoned tucked into trousers! The world is your oyster when it comes to styling button-downs.
Trousers
Don’t let the word trousers intimidate you; they aren’t just for the office. A good pair of trousers is a comfortable pair of pants that looks good with a t-shirt, tank, button-down, and more. I always opt for a good pair of trousers and a fitted t-shirt if I can’t decide what to wear to class.
Sneakers and Loafers
Shoes, Shoes, Shoes! Shoes can elevate any outfit and opposingly, make any outfit into comfortable athleisure. Sometimes, the ultimate outfit is jeans, a fitted T-shirt, and a cute pair of sneakers. Loafers, on the other hand, make any outfit semi-professional. Their purpose is to elevate, and they do it well. Jean shorts, a tank top, a blazer, and a pair of loafers is the perfect outfit that adds some professionalism.
Shorts
It’s still only August, and Texas is hot, so I’ve added a collection of shorts that are a step up from denim but not as wild as leather. I pair shorts like these with a tank or tee and a comfy pair of sneakers! (I’ve also included my favorite denim shorts because I’ll never say no to a good jean short).
Workout Sets!
As I said before, there’s nothing wrong with a good workout set! Sometimes a workout set is the perfect class outfit for when you’re low on time, have errands to run that day, and just can’t be bothered with planning an outfit. (For the sake of classroom modesty, I always bring a blazer, hoodie, or button-down to throw over it if the set is a little revealing)
